Ya’ll don’t even KNOW how excited I was to bring Shadowcat back to Dragoncon. As I’ve mentioned, Shadowcat was my first superhero costume for my first Dragoncon in 2002.
I’ve been playing around with the idea since Dragoncon 2011. But never had a good excuse to until I got to be part of a very awesome 80s X-Men group this past Saturday night!
For a 13 year old costume it’s held up REMARKABLY well. I had to do a few repairs on the blouse where the belt had torn a bit – and it was SUPER wrinkled and I spent a half hour ironing it in the hotel room Wednesday LOL
I also made a new mask. My original was friendly plastic I molded to my face and glued blue cotton around. The new one is latex — just like my Ms Marvel mask. Although I sweated out of it! The whole left side fell off just as I got back to the room LOL
But this was a highlight of the con for me – wearing this costume again, and getting to be part of an awesome group.
